WI-5 ("WHAT TO DO WITH THE WI-FI WILD WEST")
To date, Wi-Fi has been a highly successful technology present in our day-to-day lives. However, Wi-Fi access points have spread without any coordination. That is to say, we install access points wherever we think fit. In principle this is reasonable, but there are places where there is such a density of Wi-Fi networks that broadband is significantly diminished.

The Wi-5 project will investigate methods of adding intelligence to routers in such a way that they will automatically adjust their channels and power, and not interfere with other nearby routers. Special emphasis in the Wi-5 project will be placed on the requirements of certain real time services, such as voice over IP calls or on-line games.
